Hi. I'm Gina Marecki, owner of G Fitness.
I created G Fitness to provide an opportunity for women to be comfortable with exercise and with their bodies. Walking into a gym can be very intimidating, especially if you do not know how to use any of the equipment.
Working out for me has always been about feeling good mentally first and physically second. Weightlifting and high intensity workouts made me feel empowered and confident. This carried over to how I felt in my day-to-day life.
I wanted to pass this onto everyone I knew!
I loved the energy I felt from working out in the big gyms, but I understood how gyms can be overwhelming. Countless women that I have worked with were not comfortable exercising with large groups of people. After working with them and showing them how to lift weights properly, use a kettlebell or punch and kick pads, they gained confidence. It is wonderful to see the transformation and be a part of it.
Back to the Beginning
In 2008, at age 38, I had been battling depressive and anxiety symptoms for several years. I sought the help of a behavioral therapist and worked to overcome past trauma. I found exercise and writing helped me through dark moments. Adding heavy weightlifting, tennis, high intensity training and cardio kickboxing, I fought my silent battle becoming more committed to exercise and healing.
G Fitness was Born
I pursued my passion for fitness by becoming a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Women’s Fitness Specialist in December 2012.
January 2, 2013, I opened G Fitness studio in my home.
I grew my business as a personal trainer specializing in customized strength training workouts for women. I was able to relate to women that faced obstacles, both physically and mentally, that were preventing them from achieving full happiness and a healthy lifestyle.
My unspoken mission began to unfold. My goal became to help women like me see the beauty and strength that resides deep within all of us, if only we would let each other see behind our masks.
As my personal training business grew, I added a women's small group training session, consisting of two members. We met every Friday morning for bootcamp style workouts, (that I personally tested before each session!). I introduced women to different modalities; from weightlifting to kettlebells, to weighted medicine balls of different sizes to resistance bands and suspension trainers. Word spread and our small group grew, continuing on for several years with many of the same clients returning.
In 2014, I earned a Barre and Pilates certification, and became a group fitness instructor, teaching Barre classes and strength training workouts in several fitness facilities across the Farmington Valley and the Connecticut shoreline communities.
After four years at the home studio and instructing at other facilities, I expanded my business and opened G Fitness and Wellness studio in Simsbury, Connecticut.
G Fitness and Wellness Studio
I focused all my efforts on personal training and small group training at my new studio with the addition of small group Barre Pilates classes. Women found these classes inspiring and welcoming. It was a way to introduce exercising in a non-intimidating setting. The classes grew over the years, and I was able to hire additional instructors to teach a variety of classes at my studio.
Soon, the constant stress of over training (I sometimes taught 3 classes in a day) took a toll on my nervous system. I was plagued with chronic pain. I sought relief from every type of recovery modality you could name. From physical therapy to massage to lower impact and intensity workouts to no avail. The pain worsened and no orthopedic surgeons could find any injuries.
I realized I had burnt myself out with overtraining, subjecting my nervous system to extremely high stress and adrenal fatigue.
I spoke with a trainer who was working with my son at the time on vision training to help with his ADHD symptoms. He spoke about how the nervous system controls how your body reacts to stimuli. How if there is a discrepancy in our vision or balance systems, or with how our brain perceives movement, it can perceive threat and put the brakes on your body. The result, chronic pain, weakness, extreme fatigue, loss in performance, vertigo the list went on. He was totally speaking to me and what was happening to my body. I signed up for a session with him using Z-Health performance training as well as Muay Thai Kickboxing (I couldn't resist trying that!).
Fast forward, I added Z-Health, a neurological based training program and Muay Thai kickboxing to my arsenal. Training myself in both areas, I now use both of these to train my clients. I am a certified Z-Health Trainer. Click link below to learn more about what Z-Health can do for you.

G Fitness, LLC
I've trained and taught hundreds of women in a variety of settings. From my home studio to owning a boutique studio in downtown Simsbury to working with clients in martial art dojos and large box gyms to teaching in beautiful fitness studios by the water.
I am back to my roots, you'd say.
I've landed in a beautiful, bright studio space to focus on my original love and inspiration, teaching women ways to overcome obstacles that are holding them back.
My clients include regular fitness enthusiasts, marathon runners, fitness instructors and trainers, new mamas and women brand new to fitness, as well as those who have suffered past injuries, depression, trauma, autoimmune diseases and cancer.
I use my strength training, kickboxing, and Z-Health education to help women become stronger and empowered.
My methods of personal training appeal to clients that attend multiple sessions per week, as well as those that need attention to chronic pain, limited ranges of motion and poor balance to use in conjunction with their own training outside of my studio.
This personalized approach allows for me to truly customize training programs to each client, focusing on their mind, body, and heart.
Let's get stronger together.
